Skyline Update
What’s Happening at Skyline: 11/29/2022
Accumulator – Flight and Duty Times
Our beta team continues to provide valuable feedback on the upcoming requirements for the flight and duty time.
The first beta release version was rolled out to our clients this week that includes all changes to the flight and duty times.
The new Transport Canada duty regulations are coming into effect at the end of this year. Many of these changes have already been incorporated into the current accumulator program. We are now working closely with clients as they prepare for the regulation change.

New Charter Management Tools
New steps to the process for managing charters have been added. Skyline now records and tracks the review and approval phase of charters. The intent is that charters will go through a formal review and approval step prior to being finalized. Most of our charter customers were already performing these steps outside of the program. This new feature allows clients to formalize that process.
The intended charter process is as follows:
- Quote – Charter Sales
- Confirm – Charter Sales
- Log Audit - Operations
- Review - Charter Manager (new)
- Approve – Charter Manager or higher (new)
- Finalize – Accounting
- Invoice - Accounting
Adding passengers to charters
A new system setting, Charters Allow Passengers On Non-Actual Legs, allows users to assign passengers to actual legs if set to true.
Receiving Cargo to Non-Active Locations
An issue was resolved where inactive locations would appear in the origin and destination fields.
Past Features
It happens too often that a client will let me know that they are struggling with a problem that Skyline already had a solution for. The client simply was not aware of the feature. I would like to highlight a few previously developed features that you may not be aware of:
Copying Cargo Shipments
Most cargo users are aware of the ability to create receiving templates. There is now the ability to copy cargo items from an existing shipment without using a template. To access this feature, while a cargo shipment is opened in view mode, select copy from the main menu.
